Wales punches well above its weight in the world of driven game shooting. The Cambrian Mountains, Snowdonia and the Welsh Marches provide some of the most extreme and testing pheasant shooting in Britain, with birds regularly reaching heights that challenge even the most accomplished shots.
The steep-sided valleys of Mid and North Wales are perfectly formed for showing truly high pheasants, and estates like Bettws Hall and Brigands have earned international reputations for the quality of their sport. South Wales and the Brecon Beacons offer a mix of driven pheasant and partridge across rolling farmland and wooded valleys, while the rugged coastline and islands provide opportunities for wildfowl and wader shooting.
Welsh estates combine spectacular mountain scenery with warm hospitality and a strong tradition of game management. The shooting season follows the same calendar as England, with pheasant and partridge from 1st October to 1st February.
